This amazing landscape is what inspired her to say of Pedernal Mountain, " It’s my private

 mountain. It belongs to me.  God told me if I painted it enough, I could have it."

In May, the weather at Ghost Ranch is exquisite.  Day time highs are in the 80's to lower 90's, while the retreat of the sun causes the desert to cool down to 40-50 degrees at night.  During the magical dark hours, you can hear the coyotes call to one another, the wind whispers through the pinon trees, and shooting stars streak again and again overhead.  The sunrises and sunsets are particularly special, as the changing light during these transitional times of day enliven the pink and orange cliffs.

The Ghost Ranch even has spa services right on the premises!  Limited overnight accommodations are available, so make arrangements now if you would like to have a special retreat for the weekend...We also have a list of excellent inns and B&Bs in nearby Abiquiu if you'd like to be extra-pampered!
